Do I need to clarify my hair ? And will it damage my hair?

Do I need to clarify my hair ? And will it damage my hair?

Using a gentle clarifying shampoo before conditioning your hair is important because ridding your hair from old products that may be blocking your hair from absorbing water will help your conditioning treatments to do the job that their meant to do, which is to strengthen and restore moisture. If your hair shaft is blocked it prevents the conditioner from absorbing into the hair shaft.

If you prefer using a more natural way to clarify your hair, try using Apple Cider vinegar and water mixed.

Science supports the use of apple cider vinegar as a hair rinse. It could help strengthen hair and improve luster by lowering hair and scalp pH. It may also keep pesky scalp infections and itchiness at bay.

Prepare a solution by mixing ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar and ¾ cup of water. You can add ⅛ cup of lemon juice and a few drops of essential oil of your choice into it. Massage your scalp with this solution thoroughly. Leave it for half an hour before washing it off.

So to conclude, clarifying your hair is beneficial and using a gentle shampoo or natural remedy will help your hair to benefit from conditioning treatments that will help the overall health of your hair. Using harsh clarifying shampoos too much is not good for your hair.

How do I find out what my hair texture is?

You can determine your hair texture by comparing your hair with hair texture charts while your hair is wet. There are only 4 hair type categories and within each category, textures range and vary and because most people have at least 2-3 different hair texture on their head , its hard to determine it as an exact science. Use the texture charts as a guide . Once you determine your category, it will be easier for you to get to understand the needs of your hair.
